Pandemic Pools…
I remember having this conversation with a client that sold their home to a family that decided they didn’t want the expense, time & effort to maintain a pool & dumped it with dirt after taking possession. OMG… that would be a sin today!
Pools are considered prized possessions for the majority of today’s buyers that are looking for properties with them already in place or acreage where a pool can be installed. We like to call it the Pandemic Pool Paradigm.
So what’s really changed? The simple answer to this question is perspective. There is a newfound appreciation for homes that offer more. People are traveling less, working from home, more members in the household are spending more time together. Having a pool is one of the factors that allows for ambiance, exercise & entertainment all in one.
The ‘Rise of the Pandemic Pools’ is due to the appreciation & emphasis on the quality of lifestyle a buyer is looking for that has skyrocketed the demand & price for such homes. To pool or not to pool is a personal decision; will it still hold the same value & demand years from now? Well, we will need to wait & see as I don’t own a crystal ball. However, as I always say, the value of the home is determined by what a potential buyer wants to pay for it. It’s as simple as that!
FYI: I own a pool. There you go.
