What is affordable housing?
In Canada, housing is considered “affordable” if it costs less than 30% of a household’s before-tax income. Many people think the term “affordable housing” refers only to rental housing that is subsidized by the government.
31% of the purchase price of every new home built in Ontario includes govt.-imposed fees, charges + taxes.
The inflation rate hoovering just below 3% (2.9%) has indicated a likelihood of changes towards the interest rates starting the 2nd half of 2024.
